Last Respects provide a Funeral Service “To celebrate the life of a loved one with the care they deserved”.
They are mother and daughter team Michele Rutherford and Michelle Rice and becoming Funeral Directors is not just a job or career for them, it’s a vocation. With a total of 26 years
combined experience between them, these ladies are not just The ladies down the road who can organise a funeral, they can make up coffins, drive, embalm and basically complete the funeral from the
start of a families journey to the end, taking care of every single detail and giving the family the attention that they deserve in a caring and professional manner.
When the time is right to close the coffin we believe this is the dignified part to say your final farewell, then the funeral is the celebration of a loved one’s life
Experience coupled with the fact that so many people who do not wish to be taken from the home, our friends and family included was the driving force to set up funerals from home and establish
the first mother and daughter funeral service in the North East.

by when the lady down the road done everything from delivering babies to laying out a neighbours loved one. The service is held at any church, cemetery or crematorium. We have all the same list of
contacts, bearing in mind we ask the family if they have a preference and if not we would only reccomend a contact to whom we would entrust with our own family.
We base our services on a set of core values which are underpinned using appropriate practices and policies which including;
We consider this vocation in life to be a blessing and feel It is a privilege to look after someone’s most treasured possession “their loved one”
